Take a break and unwind! 

Drop by the MakerSpace for snacks, chill vibes, and creative fun. Wrap your holiday gifts with our festive supplies, or create custom vinyl designs using the Cricut machine. You can also enjoy VR and retro games, make your own button, and relax with music, crafts, and puzzles. Whether you’re here to unwind, play, or make something special — this is your space to chill and get into the holiday spirit.

Digital Media Studio & MakerSpace Open House

The Digital Media Studio / MakerSpace is hosting an open house event, open to all SFSU students, faculty and staff. 

Learn about 3D printing, virtual reality (VR), podcasting, audio mixing, Internet-of-Things/micro-controllers/robotics, video/audio equipment checkout. 

The open house will also feature special presentations of student projects with edge computing, artificial intelligence, and more.

VR & Retro Game Day

Explore Virtual Reality (VR) and spatial computing with hands-on VR/XR and Vision Pro demos. Create your own experiences and test your skills on a retro gaming console.

VR features: HTC Vive VR Headsets with access to titles including Fruit Ninja, Beat Saber, Google Earth VR, and VR Anatomy; Apple Vision Pro Demo 

Retro game stations: Nintendo NES Mini with access to 620 classic video game titles 

AI Commons: ChatGPT 101

Curious about how to use ChatGPT effectively? Join us for a 90-minute interactive session in LIB 282. This workshop will introduce you to the basics of ChatGPT, including how to get started, explore key features, and use it responsibly and efficiently for learning, research, and creativity.
The session includes a live demonstration, guided feature overview, and a hands-on component where you’ll have the opportunity to experiment and ask questions.

CREATE @ SF State: How to Get Started in Undergraduate Research

Join CREATE members and SF State students interested in Research, Scholarship and Creative Activities (RSCA) for lunch and an opportunity to learn all about student research. Meet peers across departments to discuss different facets of experiences with research and what resources exist for SFSU students, from getting started as a student researcher, overcoming impostor syndrome, finding faculty support and funding, as well as upcoming Summer research fellowship and internship opportunities.

CREATE @ SF State works with students across all fields from the creative arts to business analytics and science research. It is never too early or too late to start getting involved with research, scholarship, and creative activities at San Francisco State University.
