Music and Audio

Streaming media is available. Only physical digital or analog items currently in the Library Retrieval System (LRS) can be requested.

The music collection encompasses recordings, scores, parts and monuments. Music recordings cover a wide variety of genres, both popular and obscure. Formats include CDs, LPs, and cassettes.

Using the Collection

Many scores and parts from the collection can be found in open stacks on the 3rd Floor of the Library. The rest of the collection is housed in the Library Retrieval System (LRS) and must be requested online through OneSearch for delivery to the Book Checkout & Pickup Desk on the 1st Floor.

To find recorded music in OneSearch, use Refine my Results to select Audio VisualLPsDVDs, etc. in the Format facet.

To find scores and parts in OneSearch, use Refine my Results to select Scores in the Format facet.

Additional music recordings and scores are located in Special Collections and Archives, and can be found by using Refine my Results to select Special Collections in the Library facet.

DVDs, CDs, LPs, etc., must be checked out from Media & Equipment Distribution, Ground Floor.
