Overview
On September 8, 1965 the landmark Delano Grape Strike was launched. Filipino workers in the Agricultural Workers Organizing Committee (AWOC) and Mexican workers led by Cesar Chavez in the National Farm Workers Association (NFWA) came together to fight for better wages and working conditions in the fields, eventually forming the powerful United Farm Workers (UFW).
