Description
KPIX-TV news footage from 1966 with reporter Jim Anderson featuring an interview with Synanon director Jack Hurst at at Texaco gas station on Lombard Street in San Francisco, which they have been operating now for 3 weeks. Hurst explains that Synanon has been operating gas stations in southern California for over a year and their foundation hopes to achive financial "self reliance" through such business ventures. Ends with silent views of a Synanon gas station attendant servicing cars. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm reversal film print was transferred in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in December 2022.
