KPIX-TV news footage from September 8, 1971 featuring scenes from a news conference at San Francisco City Hall, where President of the Board of Supervisors Dianne Feinstein emphasizes that school integration is now the law and calls for compliance with the integration plan next week. Also includes part of a speech by a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) representative and brief views from a disrupted school board meeting. Note that in the following week 48,000 students from 97 San Francisco Elementary Schools were integrated, without any violence. To begin with there was an estimated 40% absenteeism rate for the "Horseshoe Plan." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm color reversal film print was scanned in 4K (4096x2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in August 2023.
