Description
KPIX-TV news footage from August 1, 1970 with reporter Dave Monsees featuring views from San Quentin State Prison, where an escape attempt last night by 4 convicted murderers failed and the men were apprehended, after being spotted by guard Curtis W. Chapman swimming in the Bay. Includes views of their escape route from the east cell block into the Bay and an interview with Associate Warden Albert Jacobs. Note that the four men involved were identified as: Rex Spross; Charles Beckas; Victor Carrafa and Dennis Hanson. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
