Description
KRON-TV news footage from January 18th 1968 featuring scenes from a press conference by singer and activist Joan Baez, who has just been released from the Santa Rita Rehabilitation Center. Sat next to her mother Joan Bridge Baez (who was in jail with her daughter), Baez describes her experience and reflects on the Vietnam protest movement. This was the singer's second visit to the Rehabilitation Center and they were visited on January 14th by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ends with brief scenes of Joan Bridge Baez sharing her experience of being in jail and specifically directing these comments to those of her generation: "The jail is really peanuts. It's nothing for people like us and they shouldn't be afraid of it."
