Description
KTVU news footage from April 4 1967 with reporter Carlton Cordell featuring scenes from outside the courtroom of Judge Bernard B. Glickfield in San Francisco, where plaintiffs Patricia Montandon and Melvin Belli are interviewed and also their attorneys: George T. Davies for Montandon and Marvin Lewis for Belli. None of them are willing to divulge what happened after they were all called back in by the judge for a second round of talks, despite being pressured for answers by reporters. Montandon and Belli were married in a Shinto ceremony on October 12 1966 in Japan but the marraige only lasted until November 18 and they are trying to either have this marriage declared null and void or have it anullled. Note that Judge Glickfield eventually declared their marriage null and void on April 17 1967, stating that Belli had failed to register it after the ceremony. Ed Arnow is seen asking questions for KGO and Belva Davis for KPIX. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
