Oscar Peterson Trio teach at Washington Elementary

KRON-TV news footage from October 27, 1966 featuring extended scenes of the Oscar Peterson Trio playing jazz music to students at Washington Elementary School, in Berkeley. This was organized by Principal Herb Wong and was part of the school's instructional program. Wong was also a DJ for KJAZ radio station and a jazz editor for a local magazine. There are views of Peterson, bassist Sam Jones and drummer Louis Hayes demonstrating different styles of playing and interacting with students on-stage. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm color reversal film print was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in February 2025.
