Description
KRON-TV news footage from July 12, 1977 with reporter Thayer Walker featuring scenes from North Beach where new laws are about to restrict the operation of so-called encounter parlors. Ron London (1932-1997), President of Barone Amusement Co. and operator of the Tunnel of Love at 521 Broadway has just been released on $20,000 bail after being arrested on July 11th, on 16 felony counts of pandering, pimping and conspiracy to commit grand theft. A disgruntled customer from New York City - Randy Geller - is interviewed on Broadway and describes his recent encounter at the Tunnel of Love. Includes views of various encounter parlor facades on Broadway. Ends with Walker's explanation of new rules which parlors must adhere to and him wondering what real impact this will have on the adult entertainment industry in North Beach.
