Description
KPIX-TV news footage from July 7 1976 with reporter Bill Schechner featuring views of street artists set up near Union Square, of Bill and Bob Clark reviewing documents at City Hall and scenes from the 45th annual lunch of the Downtown Association. There are interviews with street artist Bill Clark and Supervisor Peter Tamaras (1911-2006)and ends with a to-camera wind up from Schechner, who comments throughout about how yesterday's vote by the Board of Supervisors to prohibit the sale of crafts on sidewalks will make it much harder for street artists to sell their wares in San Francisco in future. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

Note: this film reversal print was remastered in 4K (4096 x 2970) using our new Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in December 2020. These are the only 16mm film elements which survived from the original, Ch.5 location film shoot.
