Zebra murders compilation I

KPIX-TV compilation news footage from April 2, 1974 (and later, unknown dates) with reporters Eric Smith, Andrew Hill and Ed Arnow featuring the Zebra murders in San Francisco. This series of murders, which took place in San Francisco during 1973/4, came to be known as the Zebra murders after the special police radio band assigned to the investigation. Includes interviews with law enforcement, a woman buying a firearm for protection and gun dealer Nate Posen. At least 3 separate KPIX newsfilm reels were edited together by Ch.5 in the 1970s to produce this compilation reel but there was no record keeping. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm color reversal film print was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in March 2024.
