Description
KPIX-TV news footage from May 30 1972 with reporter Belva Davis featuring scenes fron a visit by Coretta Scott King to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary school in West Oakland. We are told by Davis in voice over that Scott King was in the Bay Area campaigning for Democratic Presidential nominee Senator George McGovern and added this stop to her schedule: "At the last minute." Includes views of children singing the school song and of Scott King giving a speech, stating that: "It's a great privilege for me to come here to your school ... and to feel your spirit. And the spirit that I feel and sense here is truly the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr." Ends with views of Scott King being kissed goodbye by a large crowd of students.
