Description
KRON-TV news fotoage from November 24 1966 featuring scenes from a press conference by comedian and satirist Mort Sahl at Enrico's Coffeehouse (504 Broadway) in San Francisco. Sahl is discussing how the press - "what they call electronic journalism" - covered the Warren Commission Report about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. He also considers how "the liberals" want to discredit criticism of this report. When asked what purpose would be served by a new investigation, Sahl replies: "Well, maybe we could find out who killed the President and why he was struck down? I'd settle for that." Note that Sahl was performing regularly at the hungry i club in North Beach at the time. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
