Description
KPIX-TV news footage from October 26,1971 with reporter Rollin Post featuring interviews with former San Francisco Police Chief Thomas J. Cahill and Supervisor Harold Dobbs in a corridor packed with reporters. Cahill has just endorsed Dobbs for Mayor and Dobbs acknowledges this support. Also includes a press conference with Supervisor Dianne Feinstein, who describes her plans, if elected, for a 3-day "citywide convocation" in January, which would enable voters to discuss functions of government and help decide priorities for San Francisco's budget. There were 11 candidates who ran in the November 2, 1971 mayoral election, which was won by incumbent Mayor Joseph Alioto. Dobbs eventually placed 2nd and Feinstein came in 3rd.
