Description
KPIX-TV news footage from August 8, 1974 with reporter Rita Trevino featuring views of 9-month old baby Victor Amigo, being fed mothers milk from a bottle at Valley Medical Center in San Jose, by Head Nurse Arlene Hancock. Victor's mother is no longer able to provide him with mothers milk and Victor's stomach can't hold regular milk or any other food: so unless he gets mothers milk Victor suffers from malnutrition and starvation, which can be fatal. We are told that hospital officials have secured an emergency supply of mothers milk from San Francisco for now but that will only last for about 2 days and they've issued a plea for breast milk from women who can produce it. Also includes scenes from an interview with a hospital official, who explains how women can potentially help Victor. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
