KTVU News footage from 1966 featuring scenes from a press conferene by Mayor John Shelley in San Francisco in which he appeals for calm in the African American community. Teenager Matthew 'Peanut' Johnson was killed by police on September 27th in Bayview Hunters Point causing residents to violently protest in a social uprising and the National Guard was called out. Shelley cautions that: "reoccurances of this type are going to fan a flame of hate resentment and retaliation."
