Description
KTVU News report from San Francisco Airport in 1967 featuring a press conference with Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He refers to the need for middle class African Americans to try and identify more with those who are suffering from poverty and comments on the recent urban riots in U.S. cities: "There is a great deal of frustration and bitterness in the negro community and often this frustration leads to action that is suicidal. People who are voiceless and who are neglected often end up saying unconsciously 'I would rather be dead than ignored'. And we see this suicidal tendency in many of our riots."
