Description
KTVU News report from November 1968 featuring a press conference with new Olympic Gold medalist heavyweight boxer George Foreman who reflects on the Black Power salutes made by athletes Tommie Smith and Jon Carlos on the Olympic podium. Foreman says he respects their actions stating a belief that: "In the United States you got the right to follow who you are and be what you want. You may not realize it but it exists." Also includes brief scenes of Foreman being driven past crowds and entering a gymnasium for a welcome reception.
