Description
KTVU News footage from July 16th 1968 featuring a press conference with Charlene Mitchell who ran as a Presidential Candidate for the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) in the 1968 Presidential elections. She expresses the hope that "anti communist" voting laws (some states didn't allow communist candidates on the ballot) won't prevent the American public from having a chance to engage with Communist Party USA policies. It should be noted that Mitchell was the first African American woman to ever run for US President.
