RON News footage from September 27th 1966 featuring an interview with SFPD patrolman Alvin Johnson who describes events leading up to his fatal shooting of teenager Matthew 'Peanut' Johnson (and the immediate aftermath) in San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood. This incident provoked a social uprising in the local community which resulted in the National Guard being called out. It should be noted that this uprising (typically referred to as a "riot" by the media) was recorded as lasting for 128 hours 146 people were arrested two police officers were hurt and 42 African Americans were injured (10 from gunshot wounds). Also includes brief views of Matthew Johnson's body being stretchered off the hillside in front of residents. Alvin Johnson died on October 25 1971 aged 56.
