KRON-TV special report from 1968 narrated by Ed Hart which spends one week on patrol with Officer Roy Medrow (UC Berkeley graduate) of the Berkeley Police Department. Includes views of demonstrations (Black Panthers) of a fire of Officer Medrow interviewing people and making arrests (including a youth having a bad LSD trip) and of Medrow driving around Berkeley's neighborhoods. This report also looks at how Berkeley P.D. has long been associated with innovation and features a look at the community work of police advisor Reuben M. Greenberg who explains he is trying to help prevent crime in the African American community: "One of the main reasons of crime ... is lack of jobs frustration due to discrimination in employment discrimination in housing or exploitation in grocery stores loan companies pawn shops etc." Greenberg went on to become the first African American Police Chief of Charleston NC (from 1982-1995).
