Description
KQED News report from May 22nd 1968 featuring an interview with an African American expert on educational and economic deprivation in children from ethnic minorities. He discusses at length how in order for African American children to receive a good education they must be supported in an environment where both: "Parents and teachers ... are convinced that their young people can learn." He also reflects on the relative merits of racial integration and segregation in schools.
