              KQED News report by Randy Shilts from September 4th 1979 on controversy surrounding gay civil rights in San Jose and the freedom of gay people to worship openly in churches there. Includes interviews with a woman fired from her job simply because her room mate was a lesbian activist and a spokeswoman who places the issues raised in this report into a wider social context: "There is a trend [in society] towards freedom. People exploring other modes of living. Modes which are not necessarily immoral ... Not everyone has the same moral standards."
