Peregrine Worsthorne on US Party Conventions

KPIX News interview from 1962 with Peregrine Worsthrone (deputy editor of The Sunday Telegraph newspaper in England) who gives his impressions of US political conventions and the selection process for choosing Presidential and Vice Presidential nominees. He comments that: "It's very different from the kind of way we go about it. We choose our political leaders within the parliamentary party ... There's no public fuss or no commotion about it. It is really much more of a smoke filled room business in England than you have over here."
