Description
KPIX Eyewitness news report by Ben Williams from June 25th 1969 featuring a press conference held by Father Eugene Boyle of the Sacred Heart Church at Fillmore and Fell Street in San Francisco. The Sacred Heart Church was one of around a dozen Bay Area churches that hosted the Black Panther Party's free breakfast program and Father Boyle addresses concerns over a recent incident at the free breakfast program involving the distribution of coloring books that San Francisco Police Inspector Ben Lashkoff claimed were designed to urge black children to kill white policemen. Church Pastor Father Boyle responds to questions from reporters and defends the free breakfast program.
