KPIX Eyewitness News report from February 2nd 1967 by Frank Dill at the Hotel Claremont in San Francisco featuring a press conference by the first commissioner of the newly formed American Basketball Association (ABA) George Mikan (1924-2005). He comments that many players who were rejected by the National Basketball Association (NBA) might do well in the ABA as rookies. When asked what his NBA colleagues said to him about his new job Mikan laughs and replies: "Good luck baby!" The two leagues merged in 1976.
