Description
KPIX documentary film from 1963 narrated by Bernice Berwen John Caple and Pede Worth about the life of writer Jack London (1876-1916) and his close association with Sonoma Valley (often called The Valley of the Moon). Makes use of voiceover still photographs and archival footage to describe London's youth in the Bay Area early adventures as an oyster pirate in his sloop the Razzle-Dazzle and his oceanic voyages and reporting of world events. Also includes reflections on his love of The Valley of the Moon his second marriage to Charmian Kittredge London his farm work on the Beauty Ranch in Glen Ellen and the building of Wolf House which was destroyed by a fire on August 22nd 1913 two weeks before the Londons were to move in. This film was written and produced by Caryl Coleman shot by Dick Williams and edited by R.E. Pusey Jr.
