Hunters Point Health Protest (1972)

KPIX Eyewitness News report from October 16th 1972 by Bill Hillman featuring scenes of Dr Arthur Coleman and residents of Bayview Hunters Point at the Federal Building in San Francisco protesting against financial cuts to the Bayview Hunters Point community health center. Includes views of a government representative explaining to crowds that there are currently no additional funds in the 314E program and that the success of future funding will depend on how they mange to build "organizational relationships" within San Francisco. Dr Coleman expresses his disappointment that it appears no further funding can be found and Hillman points out that the health center was able to demonstrate widespread community suppport by delivering a petition signed by 20000 people endorsing the need for additional money.
