Description
KPIX Eyewitness News report from February 22nd 1972 by Bill Hillman in San Francisco featuring an interview with Oscar winning writer and director Francis Ford Coppola who is stage-directing Noel Coward's play 'Private Lives' at American Conservatory Theater (ACT) starring Lauren Bacall. Hillman speculates if with ACT and American Zoetrope (Coppola's film production company) now established in San Francisco is the center of the entertainment industry moving "north of Hollywood." Coppola qualifies this by reflecting: "I don't think that the center is switching. I think rather that there will not be a center as we have known it in the past. And that there will be interesting ... credible and exciting work done in ... many major cities. And San Francisco is a ... stimulating place to live and I think it will have it's share." Also includes exterior views of the theater and box office.
