Aileen Hernandez Press Conference

KPIX Eyewitness News report from March 25th 1970 featuring a press conference with American union organizer and civil rights activist Aileen Hernandez who reflects on how women's rights have gained much more national publicity over the past few months than in the 1960s. She also states that the national Organization for Women (of which she is President) will continue to recommend that their members should oppose the nomination of Judge G. Harrold Carswell to the Supreme Court based on a ruling he made relating to employment discrimination. It should be noted that on April 8th 1970 the U.S. Senate refused to confirm Carswell's nomination.
