Description
KPIX Eyewitness news footage from December 18th 1969 featuring a press conference held after a summit between representatives of the Black Panther Party including Rev. Cecil Williams and Police Chief Thomas Cahill. Williams confirms an agreement that the police will agree to contact Black Panther Party attorney Charles Garry after the apprehension or arrest of any Party member and a discussion about the matter of "conduct manner and attitude" of the police when apprehending Black Panthers. Cahill also speaks announcing "I think a definite understanding has been reached." Please note there is some visual distortion caused by the camera's iris failing to open completely.
