Description
KPIX Eyewitness News report from September 26th 1969 by Evan White in San Francisco featuring an interview with Senator Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii who is campaigning to repeal Title II from the 1950 Internal Security Act. This statute provided the U.S. government authority to revive concentration camps. He points out that in 1942 over 100000 Japanese Americans were interned without any due process and refers to Title II as: "A blotch in our democracy that has no place in our books. And I for one ... will do everything possible to have it erased." Also includes scenes from a dinner engagement to support the repeal of Title II and an interview with one of Earl Warren's sons who expresses his family's support for the campaign.
