Description
KPIX Eyewitness News report from May 21st 1968 featuring scenes from an interview at a gym with middleweight boxer Jimmy Lester (aka the Bayview Blaster). Lester discusses his upcoming fight with local boxer Ralph McCoy, which is set for May 23rd at the Oakland Auditorium (Lester won, by a technical knockout). Ends with views of Lester shadowboxing. Note that Lester was from the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
