KFRC radio gives away Elton John tickets

KPIX-TV news footage from October 20, 1975 with reporter David Fowler featuring scenes from an Elton John concert at the Oakland Coliseum. Linda Clifford and Paula Roberts of Petaluma, CA wrote to Ch.5 Assignment Editor Tom Mitchell about how their friend Erin Echis wanted Elton John tickets but couldn't buy them, as she was recovering in the burns unit of St. Francis Hospital following a "firebomb" attack 2 months earlier. Mitchell arranged for KFRC Radio to give her 2 tickets as part of a station promotion and we see Echis gratefully accepting the tickets and enjoying the pre-gig atmosphere at the Coliseum, in the 10th row. This 16mm b&w positive reversal film print was transferred in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in March 2023.
