Description
KPIX-TV news footage from march 9, 1978 featuring scenes from the Marine Mammal Center in Sausalito, CA, which is appealing for supplies of the drug Gentocin. Includes views of baby elephant seals and an interview with an employee, who explains they need $2000-worth of Gentocin to successfully treat these seals, before they can be released back into the wild. Established in 1975, the center is now the world's largest marine mammal hospital. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

This 16mm b&w positive reversal film print was transferred in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in July 2023.
