Description
KTVU news footage from c1966 with reporter Claud Mann featuring interviews with several owners of clubs on Broadway in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood, including an old fashioned vaudeville club (the Gay 90s) and two clubs offering topless entertainment (the Roaring Twenties and Off Broadway). Also includes an interview with impresario Enrico Banducci and sculpter Benny Bufano at a cafe, who both express their apporval for topless shows. The co-owner of the Gay 90s (Bee Goman) states: "Broadway as it is now ... is somewhat of a cesspool", whereas the owner of Off Broadway feels that: "North Beach is growing up" and becoming more sophisticated.
