Description
KPIX-TV news footage from August 7, 1967 with reporter Ben Williams featuring scenes from an interview with Eric Frank Dahlstrom of Sebastopol, who has just been arraigned for the murder of John Kent Carter. Carter was found dead in his Parnassus Heights apartment on August 3 and missing an arm. Dahlstrom was pulled over in Sebastopol at 11pm on August 5 while driving Carter's stolen VW van, with Carter's arm inside. Dahlstrom is visibly distressed and when a persistent Williams asks: "What happened between you and John Carter?" he replies: "I'm not supposed to say. My attorney said I shouldn't even see you people." But under constant probing, Dahlstrom reluctantly talks about his LSD use, personal circumstances leading up to losing his house in 1966, motorcycle racing and where he was going on the night he was arrested in Sebastopol. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
