Description
KPIX-TV news footage from April 5, 1978 with reporter Ed Arnow featuring a protest at the El Salvador consulate on the 7th floor of the Flood Building in downtown San Francisco and the aftermath of arrests by an FBI assault team. Three men had seized the consulate offices, barricading themselves in and a man is seen speaking to the press through a transom over the entry door. Arnow reports from around the corner while an FBI assualt team smashes their way into the consulate and this action can be heard in the background. Ends with scenes of reporters berating an official for restricting their access to the story and views of damage to the consulate and the FBI's equipment. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
