Description
KTVU newsfilm footage from May/June 1967 with reporter Gary E. Park featuring scenes from the Alameda County Municipal Court in Berkeley, where Charlie (Brown) Artman (1939-1991) is interviewed about being tried for possessison of LSD. He states: "This is a step that can be made at this time, to straighten out the scene in regard to LSD and it's use." He also argues: "There are more and more people turning on every day," hoping this cultural change might influence the court's decision in his case. Artman had declared himself ordained as "Boohoo of the Berkeley Bag" and claimed that LSD was a sacrament of his religion. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
