Followed by a large rally outside the Alameda County Courthouse near Lake Merritt, with crowds listening to speeches by: Warren Wells; Kathleen Cleaver; William Lee Brent; Ron Dellums; Ruth Hagwood; Marlon Brando and Bobby Seale. Hagwood challenges everyone present: "I'm 44 years old and I ain't scared; what you scared about?" She goes on to berate "you white people gathered around.
