Description
KPIX-TV news footage from October 21, 1972 featuring brief views of General Secretary of the Communist Party USA Gus Hall speaking at a Communist rally as their candidate for the 1972 Presidential election. Also includes scenes from an interview with Angela Davis, who talks about anti-communism and claims that parts of the US electrorate are exhibiting "increasingly radical" tendencies. In 1972 Hall and his running mate Jarvis Tyner won 25,597 votes in the Presidential election, or 0.03% of the total vote. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
