Description
KPIX-TV news footage from June 29, 1970 with reporter Mike Lee featuring scenes of fashion designers, store owners and shoppers in Berkeley, where alternative style clothing has made it's way into boutique clothing stores on the high street. As Lee puts it, rather disdainfully: "It won't be long now before the average, upper-middle income American housewife can look like a peasant by using her credit card." Also includes interviews with designers and store owners. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
