Description
KRON-TV News footage from April 18th 1974 in San Francisco featuring a press conference with the Rev. Cecil Williams, who questions the motives and outcomes of SFPD's stop and search policy on African American men, as part of the 'Zebra' operation. At one point Williams draws a comparison with SFPD's investigation of the Zodiac killer, when it was made known they were confident the suspect was a caucasian male. There are interviews with African American men on the street, who object to this police strategy and Mayor Alioto's support for it. Also includes two police press conferences about this policy and views of a police patrol driving around San Francisco. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
