SPIN (Searchable Physics Information Notices) contains the abstracts of over 80 scientific journals published by AIP and its member societies since 1975, as well as selected articles from other scientific journals totaling close to 1 million articles. SPIN is part of the Scitation, which discovers more than one million documents from scholarly journals, magazines, conference proceedings, and other special publications from prestigious scientific societies and technical publishers. The American Institute of Physics (AIP) and its member societies publish more than one-quarter of the world?s research literature in all areas of physics including general physics, applied physics, chemical physics, geophysics, medical physics, nuclear physics, astronomy, electronics, engineering, instrument science, materials science, mathematics, optics, vacuum science, and acoustics. AIP also distributes a number of Russian translation journals. The physics collection consists of 26 journals from AIP and its member societies. Journal of Rheology and Medical Physics are not part of the consortium agreement. The 25 journals are part of a larger database called SPIN for Searchable Physics Information Notices.
