Film & Video Collection

The Library's film and video collection, developed to provide assigned viewing for courses, includes Hollywood features, foreign cinema, instructional programs, and more. Media formats include DVDs, videotapes, videodiscs, 16mm film, and streaming.

Using the Collection

Most physical media can be checked out. Media can be viewed in the Media Viewing / Group Study area on the second floor or outside the Library. Additional content can be found in the Bay Area Television Archives, housed in Special Collections & Archives on the fourth floor.

To find films using OneSearch, use Refine my results on the left to select your preferred format type (DVD, Blu-ray, videocassette, etc).

Streaming media can be found in one of our many databases of streaming video.

If you're interested in assigning a specific film for a course you're teaching, fill out a Course Reserves Request Form or ask your subject librarian about options.
