Overview

Please join usfor a special Show & Tell with Martha Romero and Luis Enriquez, who will be talking about the fascinating history and craft of bookbinding through the ages with examples from the Sutro Library, Special Collections, and the Book Arts Studio at SF State. Participants will be able to peruse different historical, contemporary, and artistic bookbinding examples. The exhibition will take place from 12:00-2:00pm in Special Collections (LIB 460) in the J. Paul Leonard Library. 

 

Martha Romero is a researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Bibliográficas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and a current Fulbright Scholar at SFSU and the Sutro Library working on a research project titled “Bookbinding Craft at Colegio Imperial Santa Cruz de Tlatelolco. XVI-XVII Centuries”. Luis Enriquez is a researcher in the Escuela Nacional de Conservación, Restauración y Museografía del Instituto de Antropología e Historia in México City.
