During fall and spring semesters, there are 18 study rooms that students can reserve to study individually or in groups in the ground-floor Study Commons (twelve rooms) and first-floor Research Commons (six rooms). Faculty can reserve the six rooms in the Research Commons to teach online or to use for office hours or advising, as outlined below. During Winter Session, Summer Session and Intersession periods, either the Research Commons or the Study Commons is typically closed, with study rooms available only in the area that is open.
Faculty and Staff
Events Room or Teaching and Learning Commons
Faculty and staff can reserve the first-floor Events Room (LIB 121) and second-floor Teaching and Learning Commons (LIB 286) up to twice a month, up to six months in advance. Learn more about the Library Teaching and Learning Commons.
Study Rooms for Teaching or Office Hours
Faculty members can request single or multiple reservations up to six months in advance to use one of the study rooms in the first-floor Research Commons (LIB 124E, F, G, H, J, K) as a teaching space or for office hours with students. If there is more than one person in a study room, masks/face coverings are strongly recommended.
Students
Study Rooms for Individuals or Groups
Students can make one three-hour reservation per day up to three days in advance to use one of the study rooms in the first-floor Research Commons (LIB 124E, F, G, H, J, K) as an individual or group study space. If there is more than one person in a study room, masks/face coverings are strongly recommended.
