Your Library is your place to relax, refresh, and refuel during Wellness Weeks, May 12 – 22.

A well-stocked Wellness Room

For the last week of classes and finals, we’re transforming the Library Events Room (LIB 121) into a Wellness Room for you with the help of our campus partners.

Starting Monday, May 12, you can:

  • Grab a free snack to keep you going
  • Color or make a bracelet
  • Work on puzzles
  • Play a board game with friends
  • Lock in for a study session
  • Find out about campus resources

The room is open from 7 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday through May 22.

Study breaks and events

We're also planning some special restorative and anti-stress events during Wellness Weeks:

Wags for Wellness

Researchers have found that interacting with companion animals can reduce anxiety and improve health. Three therapy dogs certified by the SF SPCA will be visiting outside the Library’s main entrance overlooking the quad between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 13.

Library Game Break, Finals Edition

Sometimes you just need a break! Drop into the Wellness Room between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, to play a round of cards or a board game, put together a puzzle, or check out a Lego set for later. We'll bring the snacks, hot drinks, and seltzer.

Story Time

Listen and relax as we tell you a story! We'll read a few picture books together starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 15, in the Main Library near the Book Checkout & Pickup desk.

Press Your Stress popups

Library peer mentors will help you make a custom pin using our popular button makers. Choose one of their designs or make up your own! They'll pop up in the lobby now and then — days and times TBA.

The support you need

Extended hours

You can stay later at your Library the week before finals and during exams — including the third and fourth floors.

Research help

The Library is filled with people who are here to help:

  • Peer mentors at the Book Checkout & Pickup desk on the first floor can help find books, articles, and more.
  • SF State librarians offer in-depth research assistance by appointment — or just drop in and work with us at the desk from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
  • A 24/7 network of supportive librarians helps us answer your questions via live chat. No bots, we promise!

More campus resources

Don't forget that all SF State students can get free tutoring and support from the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) . Visit the TASC office in LIB 220 on the second floor or explore their online options.

GatorHealth & Well-being in the new Student Health Center also provides mental health and wellness resources and inclusive services. Check out CAPS's informal Let's Talk meetings, counseling, and other resources.

Perennial thanks to our partners at the Basic Needs Center, Health Promotion & Wellness (HPW), and the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC), who provide essential support for Wellness Weeks at the Library.
