Description
KPIX-TV news footage from July 27, 1977 with reporter John Lester in Berkeley, featuring a look at how the popularity of the recently released Star Wars movie is revitalizing the business of two science fiction stores on Telegraph Avenue: Dark Carnival, owned by Jack Rems and Federation Trading Post, owned by Chuck Weiss and Sandy Sarris. Includes an interview with Sarris and views from inside both stores. Note that Star Wars premiered at the Northpoint Theatre in San Francisco on May 1, 1977 and was released in the U.S. on May 25, 1977. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
